European Girls

Today was a beautiful day to fill up GG's pool.  When Cassie and I were kids my grandma would haul bucket after bucket of hot water from the kitchen sink to the backyard so we could have warm water to swim in.  She still struggles with the idea...if you don't give kids another option, they won't know any better.  Silly grandma.  She does love to spoil her grandkids and great grandkids.  My grandpa by the time we were too old to swim in their pool, hooked up a hot water value to the hose, so now the great grandkids have instant hot water.  I guess it saved me some trips from the kitchen sink.

My sisters kids arrived this morning without swimsuits, however I forgot to ask for them, so we had to improvise.  I ran up stairs and got Lyddia one of Kensington's swimsuits and Haylee used a pair of underwear that were too big for Kensington.  I accidentally bought the wrong size back when we were starting potty training but hung onto them.  It worked out great except for Haylee.  She was very concerned since she didn't have a top to swim in.  She didn't want to be the only one naked on the top so I let them all be naked on the top.  WOW!!!! What a hoot of a time they had.  They ran around the yard with just bottoms on yelling naked butt!  Naked butt! Naked butt!!!  They reminded me of little European girls with only their bottoms covered.

So I couldn't post any pictures of them with just bottoms on but here is one of them drying off before lunch.

Mr grandpa enjoys spoiling the kids also but in a different way.  Last Wednesday when we were there he made the girls a quick little baseball tee out of a metal rod and an attachment of his shop vac hose.  He hammered the rod in the ground first and then placed the plastic piece over the top.  The girls had a blast with that but it kept leaning over from them missing the ball and hitting the plastic piece.  That night he couldn't sleep because he was thinking how to make this tee better.  Thats my grandpa.

Here is a picture of the baseball tee last Wednesday

and here is a picture of the baseball tee today.  He had the wood but made a trip down to the hardware store to make it more secure.  Thats my grandpa :-)
