As I just took four kids under four to a pool, I thought I
had some good insight and would love to share with you all. We visited Lorraine Splash Pool in
South Saint Paul. As the usually,
I had the girls swim suits and sunscreen on before we arrived. That way you don’t have to try you
hardest to keep the kids out of water before their sunscreen dries and no one
accidentally goes in with their street clothes on. Yes, that has happened!
This was our first trip to Lorraine Splash Pool. The girls were excited. We arrived and it was confusing where
to park. There were two parking lots, bbut not labeled well and there appeared to be no parking along the street. I brought my stroller with to haul all
our stuff and little miss Remi. I
enjoy bringing in a stroller just to contain her sometimes or to make her sit
when eating. I can just buckle her
up and feed her.
Lorraine Splash Pool had toddler time from 11-12:30 for two
dollars a person, so we arrived about ten minutes early to get situated. I appreciate toddler time because you
don’t have to worry about any big kids knocking over the little ones.
The kids saw the splash area, took off their shoes, put
their puddle jumpers on and ran (I told them not to) in. They quickly turned around and ran out. Wow it was cold. The wind was blowing so they were
getting a mist from the squirting apparatuses and they did not like that. I wish during toddler time the
squirting apparatuses were turned off so there would be more room for the kids to
climb around without getting sprayed in the face. It took them awhile to enter the infinity pool again but
little miss Remi would walk in and out all day long. I did keep her Keens on because it was slick without them
and she kept slipping. I’m
thinking over the weekend they get a lot of action and on Mondays they start
over with fresh water because it was freezing. There were no trees to block it from heating up so that’s
what I’m thinking. I wish I
asked.
Remi walking in and out.
There were shade umbrellas, which I like to give the kids a
break in the sun. There were also
lounge chairs, picnic tables, and concession stands available. I packed a cooler with drinks and lunch
so we could stay for a while (also to save money). The girls always ask if they can get something and my
reaction every time is- did you bring your money?
What splash pool should we try next? Would love any suggestions for the summer.
