My close friend was going to The Puppet Wagon show in Woodbury this morning and we tagged along. I have never been to one before so I didn't know what to expect. We got there early, put our blanket down, and waited for our friends. Right on time The Puppet Wagon pulled up on the street like the ice cream truck and kids ran from all directions to sit down in the grass. They popped up shop and music began to play. It had everyones attention. No later than 5 minutes went by and the music stopped and the puppets disappeared. Then the puppeteers came around the corner with puppets for everyone to try out. My kids did enjoy trying all the different animals.
Everyone was intrigued.
She was happier than she looks?
I looked around at all the other families to see if this five minute show was normal. All the other families were already headed in different directions so it was just me who had a wrong conception of The Puppet Wagon show. I drove twenty minutes for this five minute show? Luckily there was a great park close by for my kids to burn off some energy before I loaded them back up.
I thought it would be a thirty minute show where lots of different puppets would come out and tell a story, or they would get the audience to get up and dance, or have the puppets "blow" some bubbles. I just thought it would have audience interaction and be a lot longer.
So once I got home I looked up The Puppet Wagon show and learned that Woodbury's Puppet Wagon goes to multiple parks, four days a week, every half hour. It clearly states online that this is a fifteen minute performance that may be enough for your kids before they head to the playground. If I only knew ahead of time. I wonder if other cities have this Puppet Wagon show? Does yours?

A follow up to last post; Is Lorraine Splash Pool always that cold? There response was "we count on the weather to heat and cool the pool." They got a fair amount of rain on Sunday night, therefore the water was chiller than normal on Monday
