After Cole and I have both the kids down we finally get time together and can have an adult conversation. He usually asks how my day was and vice versa. Lately, I've been noticing my responses are something like this; kids were great in the morning but after naps, they wake up and just bicker with each other. Someone is touching someone, someone hit someone, someone stole someone elses toy, or as some of you know Kensington, someone is looking at someone. Kensington says often "stop looking at me," with a scrunched up nose and a mean voice.
Its never on Mondays because they all haven't seen each other in three days, but sometimes it occurs as early as Tuesdays. After naps they usually come down the stairs and help themselves to a snack. I turn on a cartoon or a movie on Netflix while we wait for all the kids to wake up. The last child never gets to watch a show because we are ready to head outside. Yesterday, they all woke each other so no shows for them. Instead of a healthy snack out of the pantry, I grabbed four popsicles out of the freezer and we headed outside. (Yes, little miss Remi gets one otherwise she fusses. She's already throwing little tantrums if she doesn't get her way. She wants to be like the big kids.)
Kids were loving their popsicles outside. A nice little treat for them even if it looked like we were huge Packer fans. A part of me later regretted it because it wasn't very filling and they wanted dinner earlier, but I would do it all over again. No bickering in the afternoon, maybe sometimes we just need to switch it up. Even switching up their snack was helpful.
Follow up question: Yes, other cities do have The Puppet Wagon show. I found out that my city of Inver Grove Heights does not, but Eagan does. So search on your local city webpage.
